As we prepare to go to LifeBridge and raise support to get there things are still moving forward at the church. When we visited back in September the thing that stood out and impressed us the most was the core leadership team at LifeBridge International Church. The LifeBridge leadership team continues to hold things together and faithfully serve week in and week out. They continue to meet in a movie theater where setup and tear
down is required every week. This group has been serving faithfully for almost two years without a pastor. They continue to be dedicated but are eager for consistent leadership.
Last week, LifeBridge received the blessing to have an awesome couple step in to be the interim pastor until we get there. John and Lucy Helveston are an incredible couple who are also a part of Converge Worldwide and the International Baptist Convention (IBC). Their role is to serve churches in transition, so they serve short stints all over the world at IBC churches. They have been a blessing to us already and we are grateful for their servant’s hearts and for the encouragement they are to us.
This week, we have the privilege of being with the Helvestons, Cleide Cooper (a key member of the leadership team), and other IBC pastors from around the world as we gather in San Jose, Costa Rica for the IBC Annual Meeting and Multiply Church Planting Conference.
We have enjoyed getting to know the IBC crew and continue to learn about the other international English-speaking churches that are all over the world. The IBC is mobilizing and multiplying disciple-making churches all over the world and we are so excited to be a part of this and are encouraged about how God is moving through this group.
