If you know us, then you probably know Decker. Decker is our 6 year old chocolate lab. He is energetic, adventurous, lovable and has a love for water and tennis balls. Since he joined our family as a Christmas present in 2010 he has been an integral part of our family.
As we get ready to move to Panama there is a lot to do and figure out. Moving down the street let alone to another country is no small task. The logistics involved are a little overwhelming at times, including what is best for Decker. So just as we explore and learn about relocation and moving overseas for us, we are doing the same for Decker. Learning about pets on planes, what vaccines he may need, and what he would need to thrive in another country. We even found out that there are ‘pet relocation specialists’ who can help with this process.
It is our hope that Decker will be joining us in Panama and as our move date gets closer we hope to have all the details figured out so that Decker can move down with us.
In the meantime, Decker is enjoying life much in the same way we are: soaking up our time where we are now. He will get to enjoy some stints a ‘Farm Camp’ [when he spends time at my parent’s farm] while we travel to meetings and training and enjoy being his crazy self.
Have you moved with a pet? If so, we would love to hear your input and what worked well for your pet through the move and transition.
Next week will be updating you live from Costa Rica. Be sure to tune in to find out what adventures we get into there.
